FISHER'S COAT
Fisher’s coat is an older rendering of the upper garment Peter put on before coming ashore in John 21. The passage does not identify it as a special garment worn only by fishermen.
Biblical Usage
In John 21:7, Peter is described as naked and then girding on his coat before going to Jesus on the shore. The Revised Version and American Standard Revised Version render the word “coat,” reflecting its literal sense of upper garment.
