Iron
Iron was a known metal used for tools, weapons, building, and trade in biblical times. Scripture also uses it figuratively for strength, hardship, oppression, and firm rule.
Biblical Usage
Biblical figures include a yoke of iron for hard service, a rod of iron for stern government, a pillar of iron for strong support, a furnace of iron for severe labor, and fetters of iron for affliction. Iron is also connected with temple preparation and commerce.
