Irrigation
Irrigation is the watering of cultivated land through channels, reservoirs, wells, or lifting devices. It was especially important for gardens and summer crops in the lands of the Bible.
Biblical Usage
The watering of gardens is implied in biblical descriptions of cultivated land. Water could be directed through small channels and diverted from plot to plot, sometimes by opening or closing the channel with the foot.
